Hive-Five Multi-Guard Extender – Needed for Certain Nationals Only

You ONLY need this extender if you have a National hive with a notch cut into the entrance floor (see photo below). If your National floor doesn't have this notch — or you have a Langstroth, Maisemore, Smith, Dadant, Commercial or Hyde Long Hive — you do not need an extender. The Multi-Guard fits straight on.

If your National floor does have the notch, this simple UK-made add-on extends the wings of your Multi-Guard to fit. It glues into place in seconds and is colour-matched to your Multi-Guard.
